DAY TWELVE - 4TH SEPTEMBER - NEW PLYMOUTH  TO WELLINGTON

VIA PALMESTON NORTH

Today was by far the coldest day because of the wind chill factor. We stopped at Palmeston North at Coffee Club...a Father's Day special.

We were parked close to the square so some of these photos are of things of interest in the square. Not a lot of plant in flower but a few!

Then on to Wellington where the scenery again is spectacular particularly when the ranges appeared. A bit "hazy" all days a lot of the photos are not as clear as I would have liked .

We got to our motel (like little flats with a kitchenette.) we waited till two (eating our sandwiches in the car as the weather was so cold and windy). After getting into the unit we then drove to the lookout where we nearly got blown off our feet ...but the view from the top was 360degrees and worth the steps.

These grasses should be upright!!

Wearing a thick fleece over a jumper and a jacket and still cold. Please excuse the hat....

You can see by Henry's trouser legs he is actually having trouble walking it is so windy.

then through the city to the top of the cable car, a nice little museum with a video telling the story of cable cars in New Zealand.
Though they were prolific they are (but one) a thing of the past.

We are located in the CBD so could walk about 50 meters to the Thai restaurant for our dinner. So cold that I've even put the electric blanket on. Doing my blog late and really tired tonight. We have been having such a good time and seeing so much. Everything that we have been told about New Zealand is true. We are lucky to be seeing it at our own pace and with Gary driving we always feel safe!
