DAY ELEVEN --3RD SEPTEMBER --  NEW PLYMOUTH TO WHANGANUI

Left our mountain retreat with rain falling. Just too misty to visit Mt Egmont so we drove to Whanganui where we were able to get into our motel (really like small self contained units with kitchen facilities) early. The last couple of days because we've had kitchen facilities we have made sandwiches we can eat on the run and finding the local countdown stores (they have the Woolies symbol)we've had dinner in the units.

Henry lets me read his diary as I get the names of the places confused and I think he put it well when he said often we are getting four seasons in one day! Today though we only got very cold, very windy at times and raining on and off all day.

Hard to leave this beautiful fire this morning! Gorgeous moss on this tree. George's garden is lovely .

Just a few "snaps" from the road. Green pastures and hilly land where sheep roam (many with new lambs) up the fairly rugged hillsides.

Riversside Motel, located side of the river of course!!

Up to the lookout!

Then off to the  Museum. Henry finally found his magnetic bookmarks.

Happy Hour......
