DAY TWENTY SIX -- EIGHTEENTH SEPTEMBER -- DUNEDIN TO OAMARU
We left Dunedin, a little reluctant to leave the lovely farmstay. Beautiful countryside and many planted pine forests. A side Road and we found The Fishwife Cafe at Katiki Point. Beautiful spot, lots of houses but mainly for holiday makers.
Henry got a tip from a fellow traveller and we then went up to a lighthouse where by walking a few hundred meters through very beautiful but windy conditions we had the privilege of seeing seals sunning themselves up close and personal.
Next the beach walk to see the Moeraki Boulders, and lunch at the cafe there.
On to Oamaru and tiger motel. As usual nice and comfortable. Rugging up again we visited Harbourside and the Steampunk Museum...a very unusual but interesting place.
Then we went to the Brewery and decided to have an early Pizza dinner and a craft beer.
A great day but cold and windy..so we were thankful for a warm cuppa and electric blanket!
