DAY TWENTY FOUR --  SIXTEENTH SEPTEMBER -- INVERCARGILL TO DUNEDIN

We left a still gloomy Invercargill after a visit to see some vintage bikes and cars. We took the Southern Coast Road and had such a varied day.

Beautiful rolling green hills, lots of windbreaks and sheep and cattle. So many baby lambs too. coffee and a chat at a local cafe on the way near the sea.

Then a 40 minute walk through glorious rainforest to the Karopuka falls. Helen and I almost made it to the top but it was too slippery and wet.

Lunch first... very welcome soup.... and then a trip to the Kaka Point lighthouse. Scenery along the coast was rough and very wild. Henry and Gary went to the top.

Then an hour or so and we negotiated traffic through Dunedin to our farmstead ( 2 nights0 on an Alpaca farm. Lovely house with and log fire. Unlike yesterday photos are prolific.
